Spectral Library from Dr. Janice Bishop (SETI Institute)
Description
Reflectance spectra database for a variety of minerals and Mars analog materials. These are composite spectra derived by splicing together biconical FTIR reflectance data to extended visible region bidirectional spectra that are calibrated to absolute reflectance. All spectra were measured at the Reflectance Experiment Laboratory (RELAB) at Brown University. The FTIR spectra are measured under controlled, dry humidity conditions in order to minimize the presence of adsorbed water on the samples. This enables a closer approximation to what the spectra of these samples would look like on Mars or other planetary bodies than spectra measured under ambient conditions on Earth.
Policy regarding the use and referencing of data from this library: by using spectra from this site, you signify your agreement to cite the papers listed when using these as part of scientific research. Support from NASA's PDART program is greatly appreciated.
