Exploring AHED Datasets

Currently, there are three different ways to search and discover AHED datasets:

By Theme:

From the AHED home page, first click the button to explore “By Theme” and then click on a section of the astrobiology illustration to get more information and explore datasets relevant to that theme. Each section in the illustration represents a NASA Astrobiology Program Research Topic defined in the 2015 NASA Astrobiology Strategy Document:

  • Abiotic Building Blocks of Life
  • Origins of Life
  • Early Life and Increasing Complexity
  • Coevolution of Life and the Physical Environment
  • Characterizing Environments for Habitability and Biosignatures
  • Constructing Habitable Worlds

By Location:

From the AHED home page, first click the button to explore “By Location”. On the map, you can click on a pin or use the box tool to explore datasets at a location to define a search region. The system will search for all astrobiology datasets containing field data collected at those map locations.

By Keyword:

From the AHED home page, first click the button to explore “By Keyword” and then click on any keyword shown in the word cloud to explore datasets tagged with that keyword. All AHED datasets are tagged using one or more relevant astrobiology keywords.

By Discipline:

From the AHED Search page, select one or more disciplines to find related datasets. All AHED datasets are tagged using one or more relevant astrobiology disciplines.
